Travel Booking Agreement/Terms and Conditions

Thank you for choosing Journey with Genesis to assist with your travel planning. Travel should be exciting, inspiring, and stress-free. These Terms and Conditions are designed to clearly explain the relationship between you (“Client,” “Traveler,” “you,” or “your”) and Journey with Genesis (“Agency,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), owned and operated by Genesis Keefer.
By requesting travel planning services, approving travel arrangements, submitting payment, or booking travel through Journey with Genesis, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms and Conditions.
1. About Journey with Genesis
Journey with Genesis is owned and operated by Genesis Keefer, an Independent Travel Advisor affiliated with Outside Agents, a division of Cruises & Tours Unlimited.
Genesis Keefer acts solely as an intermediary and booking agent between travelers and independent third-party travel suppliers, including but not limited to cruise lines, airlines, hotels, resorts, tour operators, transportation providers, travel insurance providers, vacation package companies, destination management companies, and other travel-related suppliers (“Suppliers”).
Journey with Genesis does not own, operate, manage, supervise, or control any Supplier and is not responsible for the acts, omissions, errors, policies, or services of any Supplier.

Registration as a Seller of Travel does not constitute approval by the State of California.
2. Acceptance of Supplier Terms
All travel arrangements booked through Journey with Genesis are subject to the individual terms, conditions, policies, and rules of the Suppliers providing those services.
By authorizing a booking, you agree to be bound by the terms and conditions of all Suppliers included in your itinerary.
Supplier policies may include, but are not limited to:
- Cancellation penalties
- Change fees
- Refund policies
- Baggage restrictions
- Cruise line policies
- Hotel policies
- Health requirements
- Documentation requirements
- Conduct requirements
It is your responsibility to review and understand all applicable Supplier policies before travel.
3. Quotes, Pricing, and Availability
All pricing is subject to change until a reservation has been confirmed and payment has been processed.
Travel pricing may fluctuate due to:
- Supplier inventory changes
- Promotional offers
- Dynamic pricing systems
- Fuel surcharges
- Government taxes and fees
- Currency exchange fluctuations
Journey with Genesis cannot guarantee the availability of any quoted fare, cabin, room category, excursion, airfare, promotion, or special offer until it has been booked and confirmed by the Supplier.
Errors occasionally occur in pricing, descriptions, promotions, or availability. We reserve the right to correct any errors and revise pricing before confirmation.
4. Deposits and Payments
A deposit may be required to secure your reservation. Deposit amounts and payment schedules vary by Supplier.
By submitting payment information, you authorize Journey with Genesis and/or the applicable Supplier to process payments on your behalf.
You are responsible for making all required payments by the deadlines established by the Supplier.
Failure to make payment by the required deadline may result in:
- Cancellation of your reservation
- Loss of promotional pricing
- Loss of cabin or room inventory
- Supplier penalties
- Forfeiture of deposits or payments already made
Journey with Genesis is not responsible for cancellations resulting from missed payment deadlines.
5. Cancellations and Refunds
All cancellation requests must be submitted in writing.
Cancellation penalties are determined by the Supplier and may vary significantly depending on the travel product purchased.
Many travel arrangements become partially or fully non-refundable immediately upon booking.
If you cancel a reservation, you may be subject to:
- Supplier cancellation fees
- Non-refundable deposits
- Administrative fees
- Airline penalties
- Cruise line penalties
- Hotel cancellation fees
Refunds, when applicable, are issued according to the Supplier’s policies and timelines.
Journey with Genesis does not control refund processing times and cannot guarantee when a Supplier will issue a refund.
6. Reservation Changes
Requests for changes to confirmed reservations must be submitted in writing.
Changes may result in:
- Increased pricing
- Supplier change fees
- Loss of promotional benefits
- Repricing of the entire reservation
- Cancellation and rebooking requirements
Journey with Genesis will make reasonable efforts to assist with modifications but cannot guarantee that changes will be possible once a reservation has been confirmed.
7. Travel Documents
It is solely your responsibility to obtain and carry all required travel documentation.
Required documentation may include:
- Valid passport
- Visa(s)
- Entry permits
- Vaccination records
- Travel authorizations
- Government-issued identification
- REAL ID-compliant identification when required
Many destinations require passports to remain valid for at least six months beyond the date of return.
Failure to obtain proper documentation may result in denied boarding, denied entry, missed travel arrangements, or cancellation without refund.
Journey with Genesis is not responsible for costs or losses arising from incomplete, invalid, or expired travel documents.
8. Name Accuracy
The name on your reservation must exactly match the name on your government-issued identification and travel documents.
When you receive confirmations, invoices, or travel documents, you must review them immediately for accuracy.
Any errors must be reported within 24 hours of receipt.
Failure to verify reservation details may result in:
- Supplier correction fees
- Airline ticket reissue fees
- Denied boarding
- Missed travel arrangements
- Additional travel expenses
Any costs associated with correcting inaccurate information are the sole responsibility of the traveler.
9. Air Travel
If airfare is included in your reservation, Journey with Genesis acts solely as a booking intermediary between you and the airline.
Airlines maintain complete control over:
- Flight schedules
- Aircraft substitutions
- Seating assignments
- Baggage policies
- Delays
- Cancellations
- Refund eligibility
Flight schedules may change before or during travel. Journey with Genesis is not responsible for schedule changes, missed connections, delays, cancellations, baggage loss, or other operational decisions made by the airline.
If you purchase airfare independently, Journey with Genesis assumes no responsibility for coordinating your independently booked flights with the remainder of your itinerary. We strongly recommend arriving at your destination at least one day before the departure of any cruise, escorted tour, or time-sensitive vacation package.
10. Cruise Vacations
Cruise itineraries, ports of call, embarkation times, and onboard experiences are determined solely by the cruise line.
Weather, mechanical issues, port restrictions, government regulations, or operational decisions may result in itinerary changes without prior notice.
Journey with Genesis cannot guarantee:
- Specific ports of call
- Shore excursion availability
- Onboard entertainment
- Dining times
- Cabin upgrades
- Ship amenities
Guests who fail to arrive before final embarkation assume all responsibility for missed departures and any associated expenses.
11. Hotels, Tours & Ground Transportation
Hotels, resorts, rail companies, rental car agencies, tour operators, and transportation providers are independent companies responsible for delivering the services they provide.
Journey with Genesis is not responsible for:
- Overbooked accommodations
- Room preferences
- Maintenance issues
- Transportation delays
- Service interruptions
- Excursion cancellations
- Supplier operational changes
While every effort is made to honor special requests, they cannot be guaranteed unless confirmed directly by the Supplier.
12. Travel Insurance
Journey with Genesis strongly recommends purchasing comprehensive travel insurance for every trip.
Travel insurance may provide valuable protection for:
- Trip cancellation
- Trip interruption
- Medical emergencies
- Emergency evacuation
- Lost or delayed baggage
- Supplier default (where applicable)
- Weather-related disruptions
- Missed connections
If you decline travel insurance, you acknowledge that you understand the financial risks associated with traveling without coverage and accept full responsibility for any losses that may occur.
Journey with Genesis is not an insurance provider and cannot guarantee coverage or claim approval under any insurance policy.
13. Health, Medical & Accessibility
It is your responsibility to determine whether you are medically fit to travel.
You are responsible for:
- Obtaining required vaccinations
- Carrying prescription medications
- Meeting destination health requirements
- Informing Suppliers of mobility or accessibility needs before booking
Journey with Genesis cannot guarantee accessibility accommodations unless confirmed directly by the Supplier.
14. Passport, Visa & Entry Requirements
Every traveler is responsible for understanding the entry requirements of each destination visited.
These may include:
- Passport validity requirements
- Tourist visas
- Electronic travel authorizations
- Customs regulations
- Vaccination requirements
- Immigration documentation
Requirements can change without notice.
Journey with Genesis is not responsible for denied boarding or denied entry due to insufficient documentation.
15. Client Responsibilities
You agree to:
- Provide accurate traveler information.
- Review all confirmations promptly.
- Notify us immediately of any errors.
- Make payments by required deadlines.
- Comply with Supplier rules and regulations.
- Conduct yourself respectfully while traveling.
Clients are financially responsible for any damage they cause to accommodations, cruise ships, transportation providers, or other property during their travels.
16. Force Majeure
Journey with Genesis shall not be liable for delays, cancellations, losses, injuries, or changes resulting from circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
These include, but are not limited to:
- Severe weather
- Hurricanes
- Wildfires
- Earthquakes
- Floods
- Pandemics
- Epidemics
- Government restrictions
- War
- Terrorism
- Labor strikes
- Airline operational disruptions
- Mechanical failures
- Civil unrest
- Natural disasters
Suppliers maintain sole authority regarding refunds, credits, itinerary changes, or cancellations resulting from Force Majeure events.
17. Limitation of Liability
Journey with Genesis serves solely as an independent travel advisor and booking intermediary.
We are not responsible for any injury, death, property damage, financial loss, inconvenience, delay, cancellation, overbooking, supplier bankruptcy, schedule change, mechanical failure, missed connection, lost baggage, weather event, government action, or other occurrence resulting from the actions or omissions of independent Suppliers.
Our liability, if any, shall be limited to the amount of planning fees or commissions actually received by Journey with Genesis for the specific reservation giving rise to the claim.
18. Chargebacks & Payment Disputes
By authorizing payment, you acknowledge that travel purchases are subject to these Terms and the policies of the applicable Suppliers.
You agree not to initiate a credit card chargeback for services that were properly disclosed, authorized, or governed by Supplier cancellation policies.
If a chargeback is initiated without legal justification, Journey with Genesis reserves the right to recover any associated administrative costs, collection fees, attorney’s fees, and other expenses permitted by law.
19. Privacy
Journey with Genesis respects your privacy.
Personal information provided for travel planning will be used solely for the purpose of arranging travel services and communicating regarding your reservations.
Information may be shared with Suppliers as necessary to fulfill your travel arrangements.
We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
20. Electronic Communications
You consent to receiving confirmations, invoices, travel documents, notices, and other communications electronically via email or other agreed-upon methods.
Electronic acceptance of these Terms carries the same legal effect as a handwritten signature.
21. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by the laws of the State of California.
Any disputes arising from travel services arranged by Journey with Genesis shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the appropriate courts located within the State of California.
22. Changes to These Terms
Journey with Genesis reserves the right to modify these Terms and Conditions at any time.
The version in effect at the time of booking shall govern your reservation.
23. Acceptance
By requesting travel planning services, approving an itinerary, paying a deposit, submitting payment, signing an authorization form, or otherwise booking travel through Journey with Genesis, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to these Travel Booking Agreement & Terms and Conditions.
